Café Vendor Wanted: Join The Spark of Hudson Community!

The Spark of Hudson invites proposals from potential café vendors who aspire to operate within our innovative community hub at 502 Union Street, Hudson, New York, opening in early 2024. In our commitment to the local community, we aim to ignite learning, community development, and positive transformation, and we are seeking partners who share this commitment. We are not only offering a space but also willing to provide support for a Workforce Development Training Program, including the potential for paid apprenticeships and supported job placement, emphasizing our dedication to developing local talent and fostering entrepreneurial spirit.

Objective:

Our goal is to collaborate with a café vendor whose values resonate with our vision and objectives, focusing on enriching the community through learning and development opportunities. The selected vendor will be a crucial partner, contributing to the societal and economic enhancement of the Hudson community. 

Café Overview:

Location: Nestled within The Spark of Hudson’s state-of-the-art facility, this 700 square foot space includes a cafe, reception area, and single occupant ADA compliant restroom. 

Facility: The café will boast a designated, fully accommodative space, embodying versatility and innovation.

Vision: Aiming to be a nexus for collaboration, learning, and innovation, blending culinary excellence with educational empowerment.

Innovative Partnerships:

The selected vendor should embrace collaborative initiatives and strategic partnerships, focusing on education, community development, and societal progression, to cultivate a synergistic environment that fuels community growth and individual learning.

Vendor Requirements:

We are in search of a café vendor who:

Embraces Our Mission: Demonstrates a genuine commitment to community development, workforce advancement, and societal betterment.

Supports Workforce Development: Actively engages in a collaborative workforce development training program (e.g., by offering paid apprenticeships, etc).

Maintains Excellence: Possesses a proven track record in delivering premium food and beverage services, and creating an inclusive, welcoming atmosphere.

Sustains Eco-conscious Practices: Adheres to and innovates upon sustainable and eco-friendly practices, reflecting a responsibility to our environment.

Proposal Submission:

Proposals should be submitted by December 1, 2023, encapsulating:

Introduction: Overview of your enterprise, sharing your mission, values, and café management experience.

Vision and Alignment: Articulation of your vision for the café, illustrating alignment with our mission and objectives.

Workforce Development Strategy: A strategy detailing how you might contribute to workforce development training.

Innovative Approach: Your ideas and strategies for implementing innovative and mission-aligned approaches within the café operations, contributing to community development and learning.

Menu & Pricing: A creative and diverse sample menu with pricing, emphasizing quality and sustainability.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Alignment with our mission and vision.

  • Innovativeness and commitment to community development.

  • Proven experience and excellence in café management.

  • Comprehensive approach to workforce development and job placement.

  • Creativity and quality of the proposed menu.
