AI, Energy and the Environment: What to Believe?

Claims about AI's energy and water usage are everywhere. But the people raising alarms often have reasons to exaggerate, and the people building AI have every reason to downplay the costs. So how does one form a grounded opinion?

Come to The Spark of Hudson for a conversation about how to actually think about this question. Albert Wenger, a technologist and investor, has been trying to sort through the data himself. He'll share what he's found, what he thinks checks out, and what doesn't, and what he’s still trying to figure out.

Albert will give a short presentation to lay out the landscape, with most of the time reserved for open discussion. The goal is to work through this together, not to provide ready-made conclusions.

No technical background needed. Bring your questions and your skepticism.
