Lunch & Learn: A Conversation on Jazz, Collaboration and Home

Featuring Vuyo Sotashe & Chris Pattishall with Keanna Faircloth
Free; registration required
Catered by Circles Bagels

Join media personality, writer, Hudson Jazz Festival Host, and artist advocate Keanna Faircloth for an intimate Lunch & Learn conversation with 2026 Hudson Jazz Festival main stage artists, vocalist Vuyo Sotashe and pianist Chris Pattishall. This is a unique chance to hear directly from the artists shaping this year's festival theme: the many voices, histories, and traditions that continue to define jazz in America.

Sotashe and Pattishall will discuss their deeply expressive musical kinship and the wide-ranging influences behind their work, from Duke Ellington, Nina Simone, and Stevie Wonder to South African Xhosa hymns and their 2026 EP Invocation. They’ll also go behind the music of a new Hudson Hall commission premiering at this year’s festival, exploring how the piece came to life and what it means for a small Hudson Valley city to become a stage for a global musical dialogue.
