Red Bean Queen Community Dinner

Red Bean Queen, a homegrown Cajun food pop-up by Helen Rose and Kramer Sanguinetti, presents an evening of New Orleans–inspired food, music, and community at The Spark. Enjoy New Orleans red beans & rice made from a family recipe and served with cornbread (vegetarian and gluten-free available). Listen to live jazz from All Animals, and a short presentation on red beans and rice: the history of the dish, the tradition behind it, and how food builds resilience within a community.

That tradition goes back to "Red Bean Monday," where bars across New Orleans and the rural South serve red beans for free while a jazz trio plays: a day to see your friends, hear some music, and relax after a hard week's work without worrying about what a meal costs. This evening brings that spirit to Hudson: a chance to gather with folks you might not otherwise cross paths with, over a slow-cooked pot and live music.

Free and open to all.
